Niether its diesel
the 69 used leaded fuel, you can get the heads redone and have hardened valve seats installed and you can use unleaded with no problem.
Unleaded fuel should always be used in a modern engine. Leaded fuel causes a detrimental buildup that will quickly destroy your bike.
No , unleaded 87 octane
No, it will mess the engine up
try a mixture of half leaded and half turpentine substitute i used to use leaded, but then decided to give unleaded a shot, works better for me, and had the engine checked.. No damage
All '60s era vehicles used leaded gasoline. Unleaded requirements are a product of the '70s era Pollution Controls.
Why would you do this? This is difficult to do by accident as the filler nozzle, through which unleaded fuel is delivered, and the filler pipe on the car are both narrow. The wider nozzle used with leaded fuel and diesel just will not fit. Leaded fuel will quickly destroy the catalytic converter and O2 sensors. What other damage will be done is hard to say. Use unleaded and forget leaded fuel.
Well, I am not sure where you can even get leaded fuel anymore, BUT even NASCAR went unleaded. the onl reason we used lead was to stop PRE IGN. and with technology of todays additives, they have done that as well with out lead. So YES unleaded is prefered in my thinking. Where are you able to get leaded fuel? in the USA? or are you in another country?
unless im mistaken they havent used leaded fuel since at the latest the 60's...
Leaded gas started being phased out in the late 60's. Catatytic converters, which can only burn unleaded gas, were made mandatory in 1975, so that pretty much ended the production of leaded gas.
Gasoline used to contain lead, which is poisonous to just about everything, and can cause damage to some car parts such as catalytic converters. Therefore, it is now illegal to use leaded gasoline, and so all gasoline is unleaded.
in petrol we have 2 types.they are 1.leaded petrol 2.unleaded petrol in leaded petrol we have lead compounds so we call it as leaded petrol. in unleaded petrol we do not have lead compounds. the use or advantage of unleaded petrol is it does not emit harmful gases in to the environment. but leaded petrol emits harmful gases. cracking process takes place in unleaded petrol. cracking means it is a process of converting harmful gases into harmless gases. but this cracking process cannot be done in leaded petrol bcoz lead compounds decomposes the catylsts used in cracking process
