The coolant temperature sensor checks the coolant to let you know if overheating occurs. It also can send signals to the computer system to adjust the engine settings such as air/fuel mixture as needed to be more efficient based on engine temperature.
Located on the distributor.
Golf is the name of a sport. It has no other meaning.
The sport is golf.
dr.georg grant was one of the first inventor of the golf tee in 1899.
Golf was not invented in Scotland until long after the mythical King Arthur.

The mk.2 (A2) Golf GTI is not fitted with an Inlet Air Temperature sensor. 8 and 16 valve models with K-Jetronic injection (except Californian models) have no electronic sensors as the injection system is completely mechanical. 8 valve models with Digifant electronic fuel injection utilise a only vane-type air flow meter and a coolant temperature sensor to control the fuel injection duration, no other sensors required. There is an ambient air temperature sensor but this purely for the temperature function on the multi-function display (MFA). - SD
Yes, if your car is not overheating. P0118 is a 'high coolant' alert. You probably have a bad temperature sensor.
Have you checked your temperature? There are two sensors one is for coolant level, and other is for temperature. First make sure your not over heating, then disconnect your coolant level sensor located on your coolant tank, and disconnect it. If light goes out, this may be your problem. Although I am not one hundred percent sure this would work as way of testing, because the circuit for level sensor may only come on when circuit is broken. This means you would have to do a jumper wire in the plug for level sensor, and see if light goes out.
where is the outside air temperature sensor located on a 2002 mk4 vw golf 1.4 Engine Code AXP? Cheers
It's probably when it gets low - to warn you of freezing conditions. Sounds like your coolant is low. check that the coolant level is right.
The CTS can be found on a plastic flange at the front of the engine. There are in fact two CTS units fitted in the same plastic housing, a blue one that is connected to the ECU and a black one that connects to the temperature gauge. The blue one is the one to change when diagnosing running problems.
What is the main function of the Golf apparatus
The mark 2 golf crank sensor is usually on the flywheel.
If you're sitting in the car, its located on left hand side of the the cylinder head.
