list down the advantages and the disadvantages of the micrometer screw gauge over vernier caliper
There are a number of advantages and disadvantages of using Vernier caliper. The pros include easy to use, simple to understand and it is portable. As for cons, the accuracy is not definite, it may cause serious injuries while using it and so much more.
+++
The pros yes - the cons, no. Completely wrong. Provided the instrument is of reputable manufacture, and used and looked after properly, it is very accurate down to its limit of resolution: typically 1/1000" or 0.01mm. As for the risk of serious injury - if you think that you do not know how to use it. The worst you might do is scratch your hand on the jaw points, anyway. The only other real "con" I can think of is that if your eye-sight is weakening the vernier is not so easy to read.
One disadvantage of a tape measure is you can cut yourself when retracting it . Another is as it gets older the stop that you use to hold the tape against a piece of lumber becomes loose with age and can give an inacco=urate measurement in critical situations where an exact measurement is crucial like in a cove moulding outside corner cut.
Die beide sind die gleichen dinge.. Es gibt keinen unterschied zwischen ihnen. Deswegen muessen Sie darueber gar nich denken. ES freut mich sehr,..... VEILEN DANK.. uebrigens bin ich ernsthaft..
The vernier calipers is used to measure length of small objects to an accuracy of 0.01 centimeters.
A Vernier caliper has an accuracy of 0.1mm, The meter stick(ruler) however, has an accuracy of only 1mm.
Accuracy and precision of measurements made with the instrument.
Vernier scales or micrometers are used to measure very small sizes - sizes that can't be measured accurately with a meter stick.
advantage of using caliper
it is easy to handle and less cost
A meter rule is apropriate as it can measure up to unlimited meter while micrometer is suitable for diameter since it has a high degree of accuracy to small diameters in millimeters.
The correct spelling would be vernier callipers, or vernier calipers depending on which country you come from. They are used for measuring the inner distance between two surfaces. (e.g. if your tube material is 1 cm thick, and 5 cm across on the outside surface, the vernier calipers would show a distance of 3 cm.
Has hand instead of digital.
Generally least count of micrometer varies instrument to instrument.. But common micrometers which are used in institute level laboratories have least count of 0.0001mm
this sounds like homework?
micro meter least count in British system
In case for micrometer, principle of pitch is used. Least count could be even micro meter But in vernier caliper, difference of main scale division and vernier scale division is the principle Least count could be 0.02 mm
My mooom and the advantage in meausurung with vernier caliper and the micro meter is grams mass length volume and all that measuring stuff
It can, but the vernier is capable of a more accurate reading.
A meter stick caliper is very large and would make general measurements. A micrometer caliper is much smaller and can be used to make much smaller measurements.
A micrometer (device) measures distance more accurately with more precision than a vernier or a tape measure. It is much cheaper than using an electron microscope, which can measure, with calibration, a length in the order of 1E-9 meter. A micrometer (unit) is equal to 1E-6 meter.
Just say it in Latin: Micrometer. Micro = small, Meter is measure. Vernier calipers do a good job also.
A meter is larger than a micrometer.
A millimeter is a thousandth of a meter. a micrometer is 10 ^-6 of a meter. thus a micrometer is one-thousand of a meter
1 micrometer = 0.0000001 meter 1 meter = 1000000 micrometer
Smaller a micrometer is 1/1,000,000 of a meter
The caliper and micrometer use a dial or digital readout to measure the distance between the tips. The tolerances of these tools can be under .001 inch, making them extremely accurate.
