I have two 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII's both get around 18 to 21 MPG city and some HWY. straight HWY they both get around 30 MPG. I also run 87 Octane no Alcohol Gas. Alcohol in the fuel will drop my mileage 4 miles to the gallon instantly. drl
You CAN use regular unledaded gas in the Mark VIII. However, the performace will suffer, as will the gas mileage. When you think about the fact that premium unleaded is normally about 20 cents a gallon higher than regular unleaded, you are going to be out less than four more dollars if you fill an empty Mark VIII tank with premium rather than unleaded. The loss in gas mileage using the regular unleaded would cost more than this in the long run.
nitrogen
located in the gas tank
Unfortunately you have to remove the tank, siphon as much as you can and then remove the tank.
Premium unleaded is recommended for the Lincoln Mark series. Apparently you can use regular but I've heard/read of reduced performance and mileage. I've always used premium in my 93 Mark VIII and it runs very smoothly. For me, the 20 cents/gallon price difference isn't worth risking extra wear and tear to the engine.
replace them or put injector cleaner in your gas like you would with any other gas vehicle
They run best on premium but you could get away with regular but the MPG and the performance will suffer.
2mpg
check your fuel cut off switch, its under the right side dash.
I think you have to remove the drive shaft, remove the straps to the tank and drop it, of course disconnect the battery, and remove as much gas as possible.
i have the same yr of car. when im on empty and fill up the tank it takes approx 18 gallons.
