The 1998 model Mariner outboards use a 50:1 ratio.
A 175hp Mercury outboard requires a 50:1 fuel to oil ratio.
A 40 hp Mariner outboard requires a 50:1 ratio, one pint of 2 cycle oil, to six gallons of fuel.
50 parts gas 1 part oil so 1 pint of oil for every 6 gallons of gas
If it the Yamaha import it 100:1 and if late model Mercury built it s 50:1
I always run my 2 cycle outboards at a 50 to 1 ratio. also be sure you are using outboard 2 cycle. not all 2cycle oil is the same!
Usually 50:1. Use a good quality, brand name oil that has been blended for marine use.
A 1979 70 HP Johnson burns about 3.5 GPH at 3/4ths WOT
What is proper oil to gas ratio for a 1998 50hp Evenrude outboard
