This is a 2-cycle engine and requires pre-mixing gasoline and 2-cycle oil. Do NOT use automotive oil or 2-cycle outboard engine oil. Mix at the ratio of 40:1 (3.2 oz of oil to 1 gallon of gasoline). I recommend purchasing a 1 gallon gas can, fill it to the "fill" line and there's still enough room to add the 3.2 oz of oil. Make sure you label this gas container and keep it separate from other gas cans so someone doesn't accidentally end up using it as "gas". I also recommend lightly shaking/swirling the closed container after adding the oil so that it mixes well. Always do this prior to filling the weedwacker so that the oil and gas remain mixed consistently.

what is the gas/oil mix for the 24cc weed trimmer by craftsman
40:1 is the correct mixture for the fuel and 2 cycle oil. 3 oz. of 2 cycle oil per gallon of gas. I have Craftsman Line Trimmer 358.795190 (Model #). It has the quick release shaft for other attachments. Hopefully this will help you.
Craftsman 32cc 2 cycle Split Boom Gas Trimmer are great for easy use and flexibility.
It's a 2 Cycle engine and it's a 40:1 Gas to oil mixture! (2oz. Oil to 1 US Gallon Gas) According to the manual for John Deere S1400 UT20810 line trimmer, the mixture is 50:1, or 2.6 oz to 1 US gallon. The manual is OM PS05968.

In the gas no oil is requried but in the crankcase I am guessing a good 30 weigt non-detergent oil would do the trick.
32:1 gas/ oil I have one and the mixture was on it.
