The correct ratio is 50;1...2.6 oz. per gallon of gas. Be SURE the oil you purchase is a quality 50:1 2-stroke oil.

Most stores sell six-packs of 2.6 oz containers of 50:1 oil.

However, keep in mind that oil does have a shelf life, if unopened and sealed, of three years if kept at room temp, one year max if stored in cold weather. The reason is the pasteurization process begins to break down and the oil's additive pack may begin to separate rendering useless and can destroy your engine. Oil that has been opened will go bad in a few months.
