The cell membrane (also called the plasma membrane or plasmalemma) is the biological membrane separating the interior of a cell from the outside environment. It is a semipermeable lipid bilayer found in all cells.

The cytoplasm is the part of a cell that is enclosed within the plasma membrane. In eukaryotic cells, the cytoplasm contains organelles, such as mitochondria. The part of the cytoplasm that is not held within organelles is called the cytosol. The cytosol is a complex mixture of cytoskeleton filaments, dissolved molecules, and water that fills much of the volume of a cell. The cytosol is a gel, with a network of fibers dispersed through water.

What cell part is a jelly like fluid that contains cell parts?

The cytoplasmExplanation...Cytoplasm is a jellylike material inside the cell membrane that surrounds the nucleus of a cell and contains most of the cell's internal parts. Cell membranes serve as the outer boundary of the cells. The membranes help control the substances that enter or exit a cell. The nucleus is the "brain" or control center of the cell that stores inherited information. Animal cells do not have chloroplasts or a cell wall.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are the four functions of cells that are the same in all organisms?

well there are different parts to a cell. cells including all plant cells, have a nucleus, that's 1 part, it has genetic material. The thing that surrounds the nucleus is a watery substance called cytoplasm. The cell membrane encloses the cytoplasm and cell parts. Some cells contain parts not found in animal cells. Like chloroplasts , are found in plants and plantlike protists.

Parts of an animal cell?

Lysosome or the "suicide bags'' * is a membrane bound cavity in living cells that contain enzymes that are responsible for degrading and recycling molecules. cell membrane * a thin layer of protein and fat that surrounds the cell. cytoplasm * a jelly like material outside the nucleus in which the organelles are located. Golgi body * packages protein and carbohydrates into membrane bound vesicle for "export" from the cell.

Yard is to fence as cell is to?

Yard is to fence as cell is to membrane. Just like a fence surrounds a yard and allows certain objects in and out, a membrane surrounds the cell and only allows specific nutrients inside of it.
