Curley's wife was an evil woman because she would intentionally seduce men at the ranch even though she had a husband. She was a sneaky little tramp and was always causing trouble. She used Lennie for her desire for attention even though she knew about his problems and him being slow, she was attention hungry.
She's very flirtatious and acts promiscuous, especially by Candy who even names her as a 'tart'. She's pretty but wears a lot of makeup.
The sad part about her is that she's lonely living on the ranch with Curley. Her excuse of talking and flirting with every other guy is because of her abandonment and the fact that Curley is always gone. She wanted to become a famous actress, but married Curley instead, ending her dream.
Spoiler:
Unfortunately, she dies at Lennie's hand, when he asks to stroke her hair. He becomes so enthused and enraptured by it that he starts to stoke her hair roughly and she starts to yell. Lennie is frightened and doesn't want anyone to hear her yell because he promised George he would be good this time around at the ranch. He tries to quiet her that eventually he breaks her neck.
The general attitude toward Curley's wife in Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men is one of disdain and objectification, as she is often seen as a troublemaker and a seductress. Many characters view her as a hindrance to the men's goals and dreams on the ranch. However, a closer examination reveals that she is a complex character who faces loneliness and unfulfilled dreams of her own.
the general attitude towards curley's wife is negative because nobody llikes her and believes she always messes things up.
