Communism is defined as a stateless, classless society based upon equality of condition and common ownership of the means of production and productive property. Aside from common ownership, there are several prerequisites for a communist society to come into existence: communism assumes that a superabundance of goods and services has been made possible by socialist stage of development. Finally, communism resolves the class struggle by eliminating class, thus allowing all individuals to maximize their own potential.
