The Golden Rule, from Jesus, is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This theme is echoed implicitly in the Buddha's teachings, and occasionally more explictly. For example, the Buddha encourgaged his followers to abstain from killing. He suggested that his followers reason thusly, "I value my own life and well-being, so why should I wish harm to others?"
Nevertheless, he never stated it quite as succintly as the Golden Rule. But he encouraged his followers to extend kindness and compassion to all breathing beings, not just people.
