As one who had a purity ring, I can only answer from my personal experience. Here we go: Good - keeps you accountable, makes you feel special, shows others that you are honoring God and what you believe, strengthens the bond between the wearer and the giver. Bad - when someone finds out what the ring is for, they suddenly try very hard to tempt you - if you do have sex, you feel ashamed and then have to give the ring back to the giver unless you can live with the guilt of knowing that you're lying each minute you wear that ring. It's a lot of responsibility which can be good. It also can tear down that bonded relationship between the wearer and the giver if the wearer violates the agreement. Please consider carefully. Your commitment is wonderful and your goal should be sufficient without a ring unless you truly desire it.
A Purity necklace is the same as a purity ring. The difference is it is just a necklace instead of a ring but it means the same thing. I have a purity necklace myself and if you are thinking about getting one it is a awesome thing to have. So like you can have a purity ring, purity necklace, purity bracelet any jewelry really it all means the same thing.
Any ring can be used as a purity ring; the important thing is the intention, not which ring is used. You can use a ring from Disneyland Paris as your purity ring.
I think that not every kind of ring can be called purity ring.**Because there is no such thing as an official purity ring (as stated by the Church of England, I don't know about anywhere else), any ring can be taken and used as a purity ring. It's what you think is a purity ring, and what it means to you. Some prefer to have it engraved with a saying or something, but that is not needed.

No, she does not. She did at one point wear a silver ring that some people thought was a purity ring, but it was just a ring and not a symbol of anything
Not of this world has a bunch of them that are specifically designed to be purity rings but you can wear any type of ring as a purity ring. I have a friend who has a ring with her birthstone in it that she wears as hers and I also have friends that have ones that say "true love waits" on them and stuff like that. It is whatever you want to do. It is a personal comittment so I think you should be able to have whatever ring you want. :) Good Luck!
