About 5 horse power
The Vanguard series is rated at 6.5 HP. Most small engines these days are no longer rated by HP but, rather torque. Several models of Briggs 205cc engines are rated at either 8 or 9 ft/lbs of torque. I can also add that the "Intek" and "Polar Force" series of the 205cc class are rated at 9 ft/lbs torque and 7.5 HP.

The 176cc engines are about 5 hp; 160cc =3-4 hp 176 (foreign) 4-5 hp 205cc= 5-7 hp 250cc= 8 hp 350cc=11-13 hp
It is around a 5 hp. *this is incorrect: the ones they sell currently would be more in the 7.5-8hp range, seeing as an equally featured 190cc briggs and stratton engine is 6.75hp on a lawn mower the additional 15cc bump it up to around 8hp.
CC is NOT correlated to Horsepower. Cc is merely the capacity of that engine, NO relationship to horsepower.
It's not that simple. Engines can be built to different degrees of tuning. A race engine can be several times stronger than an engine for regular use.
208 c.c. is 12.7 c.i. = approximately 13 H.P. It is not exact, as that is a sea level computation. The exact formula calls for a number of factors (not listed) that should also be taken into consideration, but not provided. improvement; There is no correlation between c.c./c.i to horsepower, For instance, a 250 cc motocross bike has about 35 hp vs. a 250 cc lawn mower engine has around 8 hp. The Briggs 205cc engine is normally rated at 5 hp. The 342cc Briggs is rated around 10 hp. There is a rough formula that some use as a general guide line; divide the c.c.'s by 40 and you will be in the ball park for a mower engine. So, 205/40=5.1 hp. In summary, your 205 c.c engine is about 5 horsepower. Kevin
There is no direct correlation between horsepower and a 205cc engine but most produce around 5 to 6 horsepower. The actual output varies based on individual engine designs.
