Try changing the oils the relate to the spudder and idle. Then try and time it.

I'm having the same problems. my 94' Firebird is a 3.4l v6 and varies on the range of RPM's when you put it in park or neutral. i took it to a local repair shop and they said it could be a broken computer chip. or simple as restoring the defaults on the computer chip

Your throttle cable, needs to be adjusted.
It's rated at 180 hp at 4600 rpm.
The idle speed is computer controlled. If the idle is too low, there is a problem with a ssensor or the idle speed motor.
Should be about 8 or 900 RPM.
