So, hospitals stayed in business and governmental employees could go to the hospital when they became sick. Soon Blue Shield plans were added to pay the doctor. Private industry needed health plans. Kaiser developed its own health care plan. Other companies developed their own plans. Today in the United States, there are many different health care companies and many plans.
