The electron is of great importance.

Electrons are the little things that circle atoms.

Their configuration around any given atom basically determines how that atom reacts with other atoms to form bonds etc. and which atoms it will reactt with.

They're also what makes up electricity (electrons flowing from one point to another).

What is importance of band gap in semiconductors?

bandgap has an importance role for conduction.if bandgap is max,the conduction of electron is min. and vice-versa.hence we can say that the bandgap desides the conductivity of any material(may be metal or nonmetal)

State the importance of the noble-gas electron configuration in the formation of ions?

Chemical properties depend on electron configuration. By either gaining or losing electrons, an atom changes its electron configuration and therefore its chemical properties also change. The atoms of an element will react to achieve a noble-gas configuration. The atoms will either gain or lose electrons to achieve such a configuration.

What is an core electron?

a core electron, is an electron that isn't a valance electron. That means any electron that is not on the outer shell of an atom
