Muslim is an adherent of Islam that follows the teaching and practices of Muhammad. Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat and/or drink under Islamic Shari'ah, and they must come from a Muslim supplier that uses Halal practices.

However, since Muslims live all over the world, there is no specific "Islamic" food, just like there is no specific "Christian" food. There are numerous different cuisines and sub-cuisines in the Islamic World, such as Maghrebi, Egyptian, Levantine, Iraqi, Yemeni, Somali, Pakistani, Bangali, Malay, Indonesian, Yugoslav, etc.
