What is the pinciple of operation of digital meters?

In very simple terms, the instrument generates pulses that pass through an electronic 'gate' within the instrument to be counted. The duration for which the gate is open is determined by the voltage applied to the instrument; the greater the voltage, the longer the gate stays open, and the greater the number of pulses that can pass through. The number of pulses, therefore, is proportional to the voltage being measured. By measuring the number of pulses that have passed through the gate, the measured voltage can be displayed digitally. To measure current, the same principle applies, except that the current is passed through a resistor, and the voltage drop caused by that current is applied to the gate. Since this voltage is proportional to the current, the number of counted pulses will indicate the current being measured.

What is gating period in tachometer?

The digital meters measure frequency by counting the number of input pulses which occur in short period of time called gating period

Who made trumpet notes?

The instrument provides a tubular cavity which tunes the air pulses created by the users lips.

How does a laser measure distances?

A laser measures distances by sending out pulses, and measuring the time it takes for these pulses to bounce back. Lasers are efficient and great measurement tools.

Why do pulses swell when kept in water?

Pulses swell when kept in water because they absorb the water through a process called osmosis. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from an area of high concentration (outside the pulse) to an area of low concentration (inside the pulse), causing it to swell as the water enters its structure.

The number of pulses felt in 1 minute is called?

How do you use fast laser to measure the react time on chemical reaction?

The pulses on the fast laser will enable us measure the reaction time on the chemical reaction.

What are the advantages of pulses?

pulses? like in the pulses you heart makes us hear?

What is NIC delay?

there is the time it takes the source NICto place voltage pulses on the wire and the time it takes the receiving NIC to interpret these pulses. This is sometimes called NIC delay

What are composite signals why you needed?

In case of TV broad casting, the Video Signal is not transmitted alone, but it accompanied by a number of other signals or pulses, which help the exact reproduction of the picture at the receiving end. These pulses include Blanking Pulses, Synchronizing pulses and Equalizing pulses. A combination of Picture signal and other Controlling signal or pulses is called Composite Signal. Thus Composite Video Signal may consist of Following Parts.Picture information (Data)Blanking Pulses (Delay Pulses)Vertical and Horizontal Synchronizing Pulses (controlling Pulses)Generally,A Combination of Data and Other Controlling Signal is Called Composite Signal .

Digital tachometer working principle?

A digital Tachometer is digital device which measure the speed of a rotating object. A rotating object can be a ceiling fan ,it can be a car tyre etc. In this meter we just take no. of pulses for one minute then divide by 60,this gives the no. of pulses per min. And its reciprocal ie time for these pulses will be 60/N,where N are pulses for one minute. Then we apply these pulses(which in fact decide open gate time for counting the pulses of a clock signal). Now the no. of pulses of clock signal which are counted by a counter and divide by the open gate time(60/N) gives frquency of the of the rotating object. Since this frequency ie no. of pulses so this the original speed(rpm) of a rotating shaft.
