We are not called piercing artists, we are professional body piercers. We have at minimum 5years experience in the field and have worked under a senior professional body piercer and received training in first aid, infectious disease control, blood borne pathogens, professional body piercing and actually know what we are doing. We either are working full time in a professional studio for someone else or we own our own body piercing facilities. We don't consider this a "job" this is a career, a job is something you go to because you have too, a career is something you are good at and love doing it. If you think you would like this as a "job" don't waste your time, if you want this as a "career" then be ready to work really hard for it and do what it takes to become good at the craft. This is old school you don't get anything handed to you, you really work for it. Clients expect you to be on your "A" game every day, anything else, then you should have stayed in school. You need to be thinking and in control of everything you do in the studio at all times because one false slip could spell trouble for you and anyone around you. I am telling you this because you asked a question about a "job". This is like high steel, welding, mechanics, electronics and all the other skilled trades, if you are really willing to work at it, it can be very rewarding, but it's no place for someone without drive and conviction. So if you have never done this before and want to learn, let me share a piece of advice, check the attitude at the door, every professional body piercer is always learning even after 15 years.
