We only have 1 city, well one recognized city. Halifax. However the town of Digby is actually the closest to Maine in travel time. From Digby Nova Scotia you can take the ferry (boat) to St. John New Brunswick and then drive to the US border and into Maine.
Yes they do. I have witnessed deer swimming from the mainland of Nova Scotia to one of the islands off the coast. By boat the ride is about 5 minutes. They swim well and quickly.

Beam...the widest part of a boat
The beam of a boat is the measured width of the broadest part of a vessel
A 21 foot boat refers to the length of the boat. There is not comparison between length and width. It could be narrow as on narrow boats or wide as in sea faring boats,
Multiply boat length (in feet) by boat width (in feet), then divide by 15.

Halifax is a great city to visit! Some things you could consider doing include visiting the museums; eating lobster; going out on a lobster boat and catching lobster; deep sea fishing; fly fishing for shark; whale watching; a boat cruise to some of the surrounding islands - and just taking in the beauty of Nova Scotia.
