It has nothing to do with OS bit size (32).
It has to do with the format of the disk.
The limitation is in the "total sectors" field in the MBR.
FAT12 is 32 MB
FAT16 is 2 GB
FAT32 is 2 TB
NTFS is 2 TB
GTP is 9.4 ZB
The original iPod's hard drive capacity was 5GB and 10GB. Future releases saw increases to the capacity the hard drive to accommodate movies, TV shows and apps. Currently, the largest capacity hard drive for an iPod is 160GB, on the iPod Classic.
Hard drive capacity can be measured in either gigabytes or terabytes. It depends on the amount of capacity it has. Hard drive capacity usually is defined by the largest unit of storage. For example a 2 TB drive usually is not referred to as a 2,000 GB drive.
The largest external hard drive capacity on the market today is sold by intel. However products may become obsolete after a few years, but intel is very innovative.
12000000 tb
the largest I have seen on an emachine computers is a 360GB
The hard drive is the main, and usually largest, data storage device in a computer. The operating system, software titles and most other files are stored in the hard drive.
Technology is ongoing and there is no theoretical limit for hard drive capacity however at present the largest hard drive available to consumers is Western Digital's 2TB Caviar Green drive.
Most laptops can support any of the largest hard drives unless there is an issue with actual physical fitment.

you can have as much as you like. you would just have to get a bigger hard drive, memory stick, external hard drive or server etc.
A computer's storage capacity is only limited by the size of the hard-drive the current version of Windows can utilise.
You can get RAM details by right clicking computer or the hard drive by clicking computer and looking at the max capacity off the separate drives. :)
