When the Roman Empire became established Europe had peace. Business prospered. Roads connected all of Europe. One set of laws governed Europe. We still use Roman terms in our legal system. We still use Roman terms in our language. Originally university students studied the Roman trivium and quadrivium. Too many other influences exist to mention.
