Wireless Mesh is terminology used to describe a wireless data network. What makes Mesh Networks so appealing is their ability to be deployed in all types of environments. Mesh Networks are commonly found supporting voice, data, and video. Municipal links commonly support video surveillence application throughout a community. The advantage of a Wireless Mesh Network is that it uses wireless switching that routes data via the path of greatest efficiency ala Ohm. A disadvantage of wireline networks is that they are vulnerable to a single point of failure. Wireless Mesh Networks are comprised of nodes that may support access points or simply data transmission. Vehicles may also act as nodes when equipped with an embedded node. Vehicles may also be used to extend a network. If a tornado takes out a node, you simply dispatch a node equipped vehicle to take its place. Also, when a node goes down, data is switched around it, keeping the network up.

Time-Domain Reflectometry works by generating a signal and then sending that signal down the wireline and examining the reflected signal to ascertain wire faults. Noise-domain reflectometry does not introduce an external signal to test the wire, but examines the existing signals already on the wire to locate those faults. It records logs (which generally are run by wireline, after drilling). Most common being gamma and resistivity logs. It gives us real time log data which helps to geosteer. In the oil & Gas industry Bromine Trifluoride is used as the main agent on a device called a "Chemical Cutter" Which is used to cut sections of piping inside an oil well. This is used by lowering said tool with Electric Line or "Wireline" and the tool pushes the chemical through a mesh filled with mineral oil making making it react to achieve high temperatures and then shoots the reacting chemical towards the pipe which then "melts it" in a radial fashion so that part of the stuck pipe can be recovered
A perforating service is the act of perforating holes thru the steel caseing, thru the cement used to secure and seal the caseing to the earth, and out into the oil or gas producing zone. Perforating a well uses a wireline truck which contains a large spool of wire line or cable. Inside the wireline or cable are electrical wires that are used to run special equipment on board the truck to locate the oil zone. After the zone is located, this same wire line is used to lower the "perforating gun" into the caseing and locate it properly. After the proper location is established the electrical wires are used to detonate explosive charges that do the actual perforating of the caseing,cement and oil zone. These "perforations" or holes, are where the oil or gas enter the caseing to be produced at the surface. Usually the same company that dose the perforating of an oil well, will have other services that use the same cable, spool and electrical wireing. These services are known as "logging" and consist of electronic equipment that help the oil man determine if the well has penetrated an oil or gas zone. Measurements such as thickness, oil or water content of the zone, percent of permability etc. can be determined from these verious logs.

GSM is a technology which is the leading cell phone standard all over the world.
