Where can you find a Windows 95-compatible wireless card?

There were never very many wireless cards that were compatible with Windows 95. A fair number of wireless b cards support Windows 95, but very few G cards, and no N cards. You should be able to find these cards still available on Amazon, as well as eBay.

How can I play Windows 95 games on Windows XP?

There are no particular steps needed. Most games will either: A. Work fine out of the box B. Work by selecting "Windows 95" in the Compatibility tab of the Properties box C. Not run at all. Obviously, you don't need to do anything for A, and if B doesn't work, then C must be true, and there's nothing you can do about it.

List the options in the windows 9xMe startup menu and give a short description of each Which option appears for windows 95 but not for windows 98 and why?

The original version of windows 95 had 7 startup menu items The 7th being boot to your previous version of dos This would let you boot back to dos 6.2 or windows 3.1 By running copies of the startup files that were saved when you upgraded to windows 95 1. Normal 2. Logger (/BOOTLOG.TXT) 3. Safe mode 4. Step-by-step confirmation 5. Command prompt only 6. Safe mode command prompt only 7. Previous version of MS-DOS 1, start windows normally 2, start windows normally, but log each step taken 3, start windows with a minimal set of drivers 4, start windows, with windows pausing and asking about each step 5, do not start windows, but instead just start dos 6, do not start windows, just start dos, but do not load any drivers 7, Bypass your new system files, and load your old system files, dos 6.1 or windows 3.1 etc With the coming of windows 95 b, and its introduction of fat 32 the 7th menu item was removed, because if you were running fat 32 your old system files from dos 6.2 etc would not run

You can have a maximum number of 26 drives / partitions in Windows 95, one for each letter of the alphabet. A: and B: are reserved for floppy drives. The rest (C: through Z:) can be used for hard drives, CD-ROM drives, tape drives, and other storage devices.

How many partitions can be created on Windows 95?

24. That's with A: and B: reserved for the floppy drives. 26 might be possible if you disable the floppy controller in the system.

Why is windows the most popular operating system?

Microsoft Windows is the most popular operating system for several reasons: a. Its progenitor (MS-DOS) was offered with every IBM PC back when IBM produced personal computers, making MS-DOS the defacto OS for business and home use. b. As IBM left the PC business and IBM-compatible PCs became the market standard, business (and home PC) wanted their software (in which they'd invested training time and also many hardware dollars) to continue to run - making an OS like MS Windows look like a good investment, and so PC manufacturers began to pre-install the latest version of MS Windows with every PC sold - a practice which continues to this day. The lastest version of Windows (Windows Vista) has lost a great deal of market share (approx 39% of new PC sales) when compared with the previous major version of MS Windows (Windows XP), which sold pre-installed on approximately 89% of newly-purchased PCs. The numerous reasons for this can be explored on the internet.
