The legal age is 18, that is when you become a legal adult. If you want to get married before you turn 18 you will have to have a legal guardians signature and/or court permission.
One person's experience:
Just one note of advise, from experience, before you run off and get married. I was married at the age of 17 and deeply regret it. As you get older you realize how much you missed out on in young adulthood. I have not been married for several years now and it was the best decision I ever made. At a young age most people are not mature enough to really know who or what they want in life. So don't jump into anything, take your time, have fun, drink, and be merry!
The laws vary from state to state. In most the legal age is 18 though a few have it set at 19 or 21. All of the states will allow someone as young as 16 to get married with parental permission.
If the marriage is legal in Mexico, it will be held legal in the US. However, it is not legal for anyone under the age of 16 to get married in Mexico.
Yes, she is legally married if the wedding was legal in Mexico. If she lied about her age in order to get the marriage license, then no. The US recognizes legal marriages performed in other countries.
