The life cycle for Head lice is fairly simple -
Egg -> Nymph -> Adult
Nits, or lice eggs, hatch in about a week. Baby lice or nymphs are about the size of a pinhead when they hatch, and quickly mature into adult lice in about a week. Adult lice can then live for about 30 days, with females laying up to 8 nits a day, repeating the cycle.
Reproduced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It depends on why kind of lice you're interested in knowing about.
The CDC has a good explanation of the 3 human lice: head lice, scabies (body lice) and pubic lice

Another good resource is from Dr. Richard Pollack of Harvard:

This site has good information on the lifecycle of a head louse from being laid as an egg (nit) to how long they can survive:
http://parapro.com/lifecycle.aspx
Lice are parasitic insects. The life cycle of the head louse has three stages: nit, nymph, and adult. The life cycle of a single louse from egg to egg is about 1 month.
No. Shampoo does not kill lice. Lice and their eggs (nits) need to be manually removed and you need to use some kind of insecticide to actually kill the lice and nits.Go tohttp://www.head-lice-treatment-information.comfor pictures and an understanding of the life cycle of head lice.They also can direct you to a safe non toxic head lice treatment that is actually a natural insecticide that is bad for lice but safe for humans.
Adult lice mate through a process where the male louse transfers sperm to the female louse. This usually occurs on the host's scalp where the lice lay their eggs. The female louse then lays the fertilized eggs, known as nits, close to the scalp to continue the life cycle.
Factors that affects the life cycle of a product depends on the product in question. A car tire as an example of a product has its lice spam and this is determined through the pattern of its life cycle. Factors that affects the life cycle of a car tire basically are four, and they are- Pattern of the thread on the tire, depth of the thread on the tire, nature of the road on which the car is been driven on, and the style of driving the car. these are the chief factors responsible for your tires long or short life and they affect the product life cycle.
