Scroll to "oil life" (engine) on the DIM and press the "reset" button. Should be done when you change the oil only.
refer to owners manual
The timing chain is designed to last the life of the engine unlike a timing belt.
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine and are normally replaced when the engine is rebuilt.
The 1995 Oldsmobile Ciera with a V6 engine typically has a timing chain rather than a timing belt. Timing chains are generally more durable and designed to last the life of the engine, whereas timing belts require periodic replacement. However, it's always a good idea to consult the owner's manual or a repair guide for specific details about the engine in your particular vehicle.

You dont they are meant to be in the car for the life of the engine. But you can buy a timing light and check the timing.
No it will not ruin the engine but when making a switch you need to be careful. If you decide to make the change you must get the coolant system flushed because a lot of times two different coolants getting mixed will react with each other and it could ruin your entire system or even your engine. Also ALWAYS use a coolant with Dex-cool because all GM vehicles made since 1996 require it. From what I understand not using Dex-cool will cause rust in the coolant system and the engine block.
