My 98 Camry has about 230K. Recently I had to do some smog related stuff like replace the Catalytic converter which is expensive. But up to now, the most major thing has been timing belt and brake replacement(timing belt needs to be replaced about very 125K - man.recommends 85K, but when I replaced mine, it looked almost new). I'm looking to keep this car for another 50K or so miles.
i have a toyota myself and i can get it to go to 8000 rpms and it legthens the life span of your engine

The newer Toyota 3.5 V6 engines have a timing chain rather than a timing belt, this gives you the edge on upkeep cost as the chain should last the life of more than two timing belts.
Average life is from 3-5 years. If you run the battery down you shorten it's life.
Not trying to be cute but is will last until it fails. If you change the fuel filter every 50,000 miles it may last the life of the vehicle. But then again it may fail tomorrow. There is no guarantee on a mechanic device.
