not sure about synthesis but in all cells to produce proteins a special "machine" untangles a piece of DNA and then it copes the DNA and makes a RNA copy of that piece of the DNA. it takes that and from the ribosomes it reads the RNA three letters at a time and finds out what amino acids go in what order to produce the protein.
