The title of Tchaikovsky's opera is not Pique de Dame, but just Pique Dame, and this is not the original title - that is (quite logically) in Russian, but I must admit that I do not know this original by heart. Translations is Queen of spades, the families of cards in Franch are coeur (hearts), couque (the square red things), jacquet (jacks) and pique (spade).

"Pique" in the Opera "Pique Dame" translates to "queen of spades" in French. It refers to the character of the Countess in the story, who is central to the plot involving a card game and the mysterious Queen of Spades card.
