Surely you must realize that with the enduring popularity of that historical figure,

and given the church's propensity for material iconic symbolism, there are probably

more than one statue of christ in the world, possibly three or four or more even.

As an answer to your question, I've chosen one that is perhaps more famous than

most others, simply because of its size and picturesque location. With any luck, it

may even be the one you had in mind. It's the Cristo Redentor in the Parque Nacional

da Boa Vista overlooking Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The representation of the head on

that statue is centered at

22.9519° south latitude

43.2104° west longitude.

The point on the 11-pointed base of the statue that appears to pointing

closest to north ... the second point clockwise from the main entrance ...

is located at

40.6897° north latitude

74.0443° west longitude. Other points on the statue and its base, or elsewhere on Liberty Island,

have somewhat different coordinates.
