Your motor could be undergoing detonation. This is a result of a complex burning problem inside one or more cylinders. Number one cause of this is low octane rating. Too much load on your engine or shifting into high gears also cause it.
Its hard to say... do u know where the noise is coming from?
The knocking noise could be one of several things. The wheel bearing, a worn steering or suspension part, or road debris could be causing the noise.
Could be a bad strut or shock No I have disconnected both rear shocks and knocking noise is still there whilst driving. Seems to be coming from rear. When stationary I can bounce rear of car up and down and hear noise with handbrake on but not with handbrake off. Any ideas?
My 2000 Grand Prix would have a low-speed knocking noise coming from the drivers side as the CV axle was failing. The loss of lubrication in the CV Boots allows the joint to make a knocking/tapping sound at a low speed. If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
I get knocking & ping noise coming from the fuel injectors
Having a bad rod bearing could cause a truck to make a loud knocking noise and shake when driving at high speeds. The engine having a coolant leak or an engine timing problem could also cause the knocking noise.
Tie rod
A knocking noise in the front wheels can be a very serious problem. The knocking noise could be caused by bad ball joints. Bad ball joints can slip off the tie rods and cause the wheel assembly to collapse. This problem should be looked at as soon as possible.
Where is the noise coming from? If its from the fenders or wheels is a much different problem than if its coming from the transaxle.
Check your oil level.
Worn front axle and/or front end component.
iv got 2 o5s an 1 makes a knocking noise but the bike is really clean an the other sounds softer an no knock ! Not sure what it is but its driving me nuts!
