Yes, QuiBids is legitimate. It is an auction site in which you buy bids and then you are able to bid on any of the items currently for auction. For each bid, the price goes up 1,2 or sometimes 5 cents. For each bid, time is added on the clock to give others chances to win. The website is basically a tricky and risky way to get things you want, and the low price you often see is because of the price payed per bid, etc. It is legitimate, but you must be careful or else you will end up spending much more than you want to!

quibids is not a legitimate online auction site, and many people do not truly understand how it works. although each bid placed upon an item is worth a penny, that bid must be bought with 60 cents. since each bid can only be placed in 1 to 5 cent increments, it leads to an enormous number of bids on one item. so if you were planning to purchase, say, an iTouch, and won the auction with a bid of $32.65, an actual total of $1959 was placed on the iTouch - and you, being the winner, would have to pay out that amount. additionally, any bid you make towards an item cannot be returned to you, even if you lose an auction. the last thing to keep in mind is that even if you chose to buy something right away (they have that option now), you will (for reasons unknown to me) be charged an astronomical amount in shipping and handling fees (a $20 gift card can cost over 80 dollars total to reach you). in conclusion, quibids is the perfect example of something too good to be true.

You can look on ebay, and try to get the lowest bid possible, or you can buy one straight from best buy, just search projectors on their website and it will be easy to find the cheapest one from there.

If no one else bids and the timer reaches zero, that person wins the auction. If you lose the auction you would be out the money you paid for each of your 60¢ bids placed during the auction. You may have the opportunity to use a feature QuiBids calls 'Buy it Now'. This allows you to purchase the item previously up for auction at the online retail price minus the cost of bids you placed during the items auction.BEWARE: Beginners are directed to a "Beginner Auction" where you bid on Bid Packs. Since most people in the auction lose, (only one winner per auction), they use the bids they purchased with their credit cards to purchase these Bid Packs at 60 cents each minus cost of their bids and a transaction fee. It appears that you can't lose, because the worst that can happen is that you wind up bying the bids for what you would normally pay anyway. The difference is that these bids have ZERO retail value and do NOT count towards the purchase of any other item for sale!I used my bids the first day buying more Bid-Packs and then the second day when I went to bid on an item, and lost the auction, I also lost my money since the Bid Packs I purchased in the Beginner Auction were worthless towards the purchase price.This place IS a scam.
