They use the standard American Military assault rifle the M16, or other variants of the family, and just as an extra add on the Beretta M9 is the main sidearm. The M249 SAW is the basic support weapon.
The US Marine Corps is an elite amphibious assault unit, trained to fight in most environments as a special-operations group. Like most such units, it is the first group to make an attack on enemy positions and establish a landing point/beachhead, a secure dropzone, or a basic staging area, from which the main assault force can work from.

I would argue by definition a Navy is amphibious but it is not the main part of the Navy that is. One of the prime missions of the Marine Corps is Amphibious operations and since the Marine Corps is part of the Navy the Navy as a whole is amphibious.
For a sidearm they use the Browning Hi-Power pistol. for their main fire arm they use a L22 A2 assault rifle. this is a shorter version of the L85 A2 assault rifle(SA80). it can also be called the L85 carbine.

"Kalashnikov AK-47 AKM Assault Rifle" Is the most effective assault rifle yet invented, of course, there are many versions of this rifle, but it is powerful, cheap, deadly, and pretty much accurate on an assault-range. ^^^ Wrong.... wrong on so many levels. The AK47 and AKM are two different rifles. The AKM is an improved version. And its main weakness is that it fires that terrible 7.62 round... The AK74 is a completely superior gun. More accurate, better ballistics with the 5.45 round, less recoil, lighter etc.
