Blood has a fluid matrix called plasma in which red blood corpuscles [RBCs]and white blood corpuscles[WBCs] and blood platelets are suspended. the main function is that blood transports gases ,digested foods, hormones to different parts of the body.
Their main function is to carry oxygen throughout the body
to fight disease
The white blood corpuscles in blood is termed to be the "police force " of human body. The main function of WBC is to defend the body from allergies, invasions of foreign substances(antigens) and to prevent from infection .They are capable of amoeboid movement and they devour such alien particles.
The main components of blood are: 1. Blood plasma 2. Blood Corpuscles (i) Erythrocyte (ii) Leucocyte (iii) Thrombocytes
Very simply, Red corpuscles - containing haemoglobin to carry oxygen round the body from the lungs and carbon dioxide from the cells back to the lungs. White blood cells - several different types, but the main function is to remove infective bacteria from the blood. Platelets - small parrticles in the blood, necessary for blood clotting e.g. when you cut your finger Plasma - a yellowish watery fluid that is left after the red corpuscles, white cells and platelets are removed, that dissolves various substances (eg sugar, food, minerals, waste products etc) for transport round the body.
Blood is a type of vascular fluid,so it cannot be termed as big or small. It has two main components namely plasma and corpuscles(blood cells). The blood corpuscles are of three types-erythrocytes(red blood cells) leucocytes(white blood cells) thrombocytes(the platelets). If question is about the largest blood corpuscle, the answer is (leucocytes)white blood corpuscles.
The main function of white blood cells (also commonly referred to as leucocytes) is to defend against foreign invading pathogens that may enter the body. They do this as they are phagocytes, in that they engulf pathogens and destroy them. Therefore, the function of a white blood cell is to defend the body against infection.
Erythrocytes are red blood cells that have the main function of delivering oxygen to cells in the body. Leukocytes are white blood cells that are associated with the immune system.
The main fuction of blood vessels is to help the blood reach the arteries
The main role of white blood cells is to protect the body against infection and fight infection when they occur.
The main function of the heart is to pump blood through the body.
