Revelation 21:4 - "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." (NWT Bible)

In the first few verses of Revelation 21, John wrote about God 'Making all things new.' This is another thing that God will do after Armageddon - he will eliminate human suffering, and everyone will be happy.

Answer:

The book of Revelation is Jesus' chronological disclosure of the end time global events that shall precede His return to earth with the Kingdom of God... and the conclusion of the plan that God set in motion in the beginning.

To make it brief... chapter 19 pictures Jesus' return with His angelic army and His saints, who were gathered into the clouds with Him at the sounding of the "last" and seventh Trumpet in chapter 11. He gathers the carrion eaters of the world [birds and beasts] to "feast on the flesh of men" as He meets and destroys the armies of man at Armageddon assembled there to resist His return in chapter 16.

With man's war-making capabilities destroyed, chapter 20 opens with the removal of Satan from influencing the "remnant" of the nations still alive on earth... and a brief description is given of the thousand year rule on earth of Christ's Kingdom, co-ruled by His saints with Him.

With the expiration of the thousand year rule of God's Kingdom over the mortal nations of man... Satan is loosed to repeat his "chapter 16" performance, to gather the nations of Gog and Magog one last time to come against Jerusalem to rebel against God: "...the number of whom is as the sand of the sea... and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them." (verses 8-9)

This leads into the "Great White Throne" judgment of "Judgment Day" and the resurrection of "the rest of the dead" [Rev.20:5] who didn't resurrect in the "first resurrection" at the time of Jesus' return.

Judgment Day concludes with the salvation of all who are deemed worthy to receive it, the consuming of the rest in the Lake of Fire, and the burning of the earth, purifying it of all impurities [including sin]. And the earth is then "remade."

Chapter 21 opens with the remade earth complete and the descent of the Father in heaven onto the New Earth... descending, wholesale, upon the New Earth in the Holy City, New Jerusalem, wherein the Father's throne will take up its new residence. And God the Father will live there with His Family, man, created in His image.

Verse 4 is a statement of what shall obtain at the conclusion of God's plan. The immortal reborn Family of God will not be subject to the weaknesses of the flesh... pain, suffering, death... for all those things will no longer exist on the New Earth. It will be a new beginning as the Family of God begins its new life together for all eternity.

"...Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these Words are True and Faithful." (verse 5)

"...and I will be his God, and he shall be My son." (verse 7)
