What is the major religion of Albania?

The most common religions practiced in Albania are Islam and Christianity.

As per 2011 census, 58.79% are Islam, 16.99% are Christians and remaining are others or irreligious. The majority of Albanian Muslims are secular Sunni with a significant Bektashi Shia minority.

Before World War II, a rough distribution of population was 70% Muslims, 20% Eastern Orthodox, and 10% Roman Catholics.
