There is no map that shows all of the land masses correct shapes. Cylindrical projections will show land masses accurately if they are close to the equator. Planar will show them correctly at the center of the map. And conic projection will show the poles accurately. If you really need perfect sizes, use a globe (: hope that helped!
It is an equal area projection. that has less shape distortion near the equator and the poles compared to other equal area projections.
They have many problems with distortions. On some of the maps, the continents are not the correct size and shape. Also, the distances are incorrect on some of them.
The Mercator projection is used for world maps, and is most accurate between 30 degrees north and south latitude. The further away you go from there, the more exaggerated it becomes. The equal-area projection is also used for world maps, but only represents the continents in equal area with respect to their size, but not location. The conic projection is used for maps that show polar regions, such as Alaska. Imagine an ice-cream cone turned upside down and placed on top of a ball. The only accurate representation would be only in the circle that cone touches the ball.
The Mollweide Projection shows areas that land masses are larger and they are larger. The disorts are shape of land and direction.

A camera is a 3D shape. A photograph is a 2D projection of a 3D shape onto a 2D shape.
Isometric~!!
The Winkle Triple projection provides a good balance between the size and shape of land areas on the map.
Mercator projection is used on ships. It shows the correct shapes of continents but the areas are distorted. The longitude lines are parallel which makes the areas at the poles seem larger than they actually are. Hope this helps.
