I do not believe there is one established fatal dose. As with all meds, fatalities can occur at both low and high doses. Much depends on what other meds one is taking and one's sensitivities to various drugs. Tramadol lowers the seizure threshold, so anyone prone to seizures needs their doctor to carefully manage their use of this drug. In addition, when combined with certain other medications, the seizure threshold can be lowered even further. Anti-depressant SSRIs taken together with Tramadol can be very dangerous for those prone to seizures. Tramadol causes the body to retain serotonin, as do many of the modern anti-depressants. Along with the risk of seizure for certain individuals, Tramadol taken together with other drug that cause the body to retain serotonin can contribute to serotonin syndrome, a highly dangerous condition. The maximum daily dose of Tramadol is listed at 400mg. Tramadol is to be taken every 4-6 hours, at either 50mg or 100mg. The long acting preparations have different dosing schedules. Those prone to seizures or those already taking other meds that either lower the seizure threshold, or cause retention of serotonin will probably have a much lower maximum dose set by their doctor than those without such risks.

Can I take cipofloxacin and tramadol
It is risky to take a cold remedy with tramadol and Valium (diazepam) because there may be a high dose of antihistamine in the cold remedy. All three, regardless of the amount of antihistamine, will have a sedating effect.
Like with all opioid drugs, patients can become physically dependent on tramadol. It can have severe withdrawal symptoms; it is abused as a recreational drug less than some other opioids.
