There are 24 hours in a day; barring any physical or legal hurdles you can work all 24 of them.

In many countries there are laws that stop children from working more than a certain number of hours a day (typically 4 to 8 hours depending on age).

As an adult I don't know of any countries that would stop you from working all 24 hours assuming you have a job willing to give that to you.

Most people would consider a normal day of work to be 8 hours. (or 9 with a 1 hour lunch)

It depends on the job a construction worker for example can take more breaks because there are enough people to cover for him, while the CEO of a company or a politician has to be on call 24/7
