The 3rd verse mentions "Friday night/dressed to kill/down at Dino's Bar and Grill". Dino's was a restaurant that was located next to 77 Sunset Strip (probably at no. 78 or 76) which was partly owned by Deane Martin. During Lizzy's first US tour in 1975, Lynott went to specifically see what was at no. 77 and found there was nothing.
The song came out in 1976 from their most popular and probably their best album "Jailbreak". Guitarist Scott Gorham said in an interview that the band wasn't even considering the song for their album amongst the 20 odd songs they had to choose from that ended up as a 9 track record. The label/management convinced them that it would be a hit, and yep, they were right.
- English recording industry identities have it that the song is actually in reference to the band managers mates, some well known fellows form an English underworld firm that were released from Prison in the late 1970's.
The track is a welcome home tribute to them...
Mundian To Back Ke means: Beware of the Boys...

Back in town
The song was written by Brian O'Neal and two versions were featured in the movie "Another 48 Hours". One by Jesse Johnson and the other by the group The Bus Boys. Both are black artists. Hope this helps.
The boys are back in town is a rock song from 1976. It is from the album Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy.
Thin Lizzy....Everclear and Atreyu both did covers of it too.
No, Thin Lizzy was not a Beano character. Thin Lizzy was a rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The band is known for hits like "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Jailbreak."
I believe it's called "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy.
The lyrics to Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town" can be found online at Song Facts, AZ lyrics and 911 tabs. The song which was released 1976, is often played at Irish rugby matches.
Thunderstruck by ACDC, Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n Roses and The Boys Are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy are always played. Before that, whatever strikes the DJ.
Thin Lizzy are the name of the the classic rock band who perform this song, they have made other very good songs such as dancing in the moonlight, which was also an extremely popular song
This is a Thin Lizzy song and Bad Company did not cover this. I think this song is from the album "Jailbreak." If you download music from LimeWire or some other P2P service, they always have songs like this mislabeled.
Phil Lynott belonged to the famous Irish rock band "Thin Lizzy". Their name was origanly meant to be "Tin Lizzy", but they decided to poke fun in the Irish accent of the word "Tin". One of the most famous hits the band made was the song "Boys are Back in Town" and is featured in Toy Story (a dsiney pixar animation).
It most likely derives from a 1976 hit by the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. Titled "The Boys Are Back in Town," the song was a Top 10 hit in both the United States and the United Kingdom. During the early 1990s, the song became identified with the Dallas Cowboys, whom diehard fans began calling "The 'Boys." The Thin Lizzy song was frequently played during Cowboys games at Texas Stadium (once the home of the National Football League team) and was used as bumper music by the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network. There is another frequently played song with the same name. The 1982 movie "48 HRs," starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy, featured a song by The Bus Boys titled "The Boys Are Back in Town." It, too, became identified with the Cowboys and has been frequently played at Dallas home games.
