a control is when someone is performing a science experiment, the control group is a test group that is kept neutral and is used as a standard of comparison, for example if you are doing an experiment on whether or not music affects concentration and you have 6 test groups, each listening to a different type of music, you would want one group to not listen to any music at all to compare to the other results.

What does control mean in the meaning of science?

When doing experiments you have to have a control group and an experimental group. The control group is not given a drug (for example), while the experimental group is. This looks just like the drug that the experimental group is given, except it has nothing in it.
