Gas Turbine Compressor and ATM or Air Turbine Motor are often referred to as the APU or Auxiliary Power Unit. The purpose of the GTC is to supply bleed air for engine start and the ATM on my aircraft, a C-130 runs a generator to provide basic electrical functions, air conditioning. By having this on-board unit we can oparte unassisted from any place and not be dependent on a start cart.
