Malachi Chapter 3, v 10
The Book of Malachi. Malachi 3:8 speaks of robbing God of tithes and offerings.
tithes are 1/10 of the gross earnings. kjv-malachi 3:10-Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse....
Of course, all subjects of the Church - meaning all men, including the King - paid tithes.
It means the collection taken on a Sunday service.
Not according to Judaism.
Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
According to tradition, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi all wrote during the same period, around 350 BCE. However, some believe that Malachi was written as early as 455 BCE.
St. John the Baptist according to Christianity. Malachi according to Judaism.
Do the very best that you can, give of the best you have. That is all that is expected of you. The first fruits for the church are our tithes and offerings, or more correctly God's tithes and offerings. the first fruits of our total income each week, one-tenth of all we earn or is given to us to each week. we should give to the church to support its ministries and world evangelism. Malachi 3:10-12: because today only a few of us are farmers, therefore, we bring one-tenth of our gross income each week into God's Storehouse, the Christian Church. will a man rob God, yes he will, but how. in tithes and offerings Malachi 3:8: because he will not pay God's tithes and offerings to the church as God has commanded us to do.
Malachi 3:8 refers to "man" in the generic sense. Replace "man" with "believer" and you get the idea that the Lord is chastising any of His faithful children that refuse to pay their proper tithes and offerings, which are generally used for ministerial and charitable work. Hence, failure to pay a proper tithe constitutes "robbing God."
