What is the unique features of colonial North Carolina and explain why this colony was so unlike its southern neighbors?

well, what i think based on what i reaserched, that after the civil war it WAS one whole colony called "carolinas" but it then split into two colonies "North Carolina" & "South Carolina"there was also 4 men trying to settle their own colony on it but 3 out of 4 of the colonies disapeared (not yet till this day have they found the answer why) & the one that didsurvive was because the king gave the eight Lord Proprietors land because of their total loyalty to the royal family so then the people of the colony stayed.Source(s):(not showing any resources so that you could actually try to research your own answer)
