chemical process
In 1808, Humphry Davy invented a system for melting compounds of elements that were difficult to separate by usual methods. He passed an electric current through the compound, causing the compounds to break into parts. The element that he used this method on was calcium. By melting calcium carbonate (CaCO3)-which is a common compound of calcium-and passing an electric current, he was able to create a pure form of calcium.
only compounds with the (aq) state symbol
Pure substances such as compounds and elements. "Physical means" that is to say: No heating! A lot of compounds decompose by simple heating, like making charcoal by heating wooden chunks.
only compounds with the (aq) state symbol
Ionic compounds are mad by ionic bonding The two parts of the compound ther for become one by means of moving electronioc and beoming stable there fore the bond and the compound is stronger that conalent compounds which just share the electrons needed for the two (or more ) elements to become a compound so they are weaker
No. It can however break down compounds.
solidliquidgasplasma (compounds can rarely exist in this state, as they break down into their ionized elements)
Yes they can, compounds can break down into their component elements under certain environmental temperatures.
compounds are those elements put together
They become 2 or more elements
No. Elements cannot be broken down by chemical means, compounds can. Some substances in the cereal may dissolve in water, but they do not break down. Once you eat and start digesting the cereal, then compounds start to break down.
A method of separation is electrolysis.
This phenomenon is called "tribochemistry".
You can't. An element is a pure substance. I think you mean compound...
No. Carbonic acid is a compound of 3 elements: carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. It will, however, readily break down into water and carbon dioxide, which are compounds.
An alkaline medium is formed when alkaline elements in food break down. This happens when they combine with (H+) ions.
The ionic elements are thus, as in the salt example here.NaClNa +=======A cation.Cl -======An anion
