A "junior handler" in agility is a handler who is under the age of 18. This is true for most other dog sports as well (except I believe that for Schutzhund a junior handler is considered anyone under 21).

The minimum age is determined by certifying agencies. The 2 most used agencies are PADI and NAUI. PADI's minimum requirement is 10, but if you are younger than 15, you will only receive a "Junior Open Water Diver." NAUI's minimum age is 12.
in the US, eight years old is the minimum age for any recognized horse trial.
To compete in the regular portion of a conformation match (dog show) your age doesn't matter, and neither does the age of the dog. However, to take part in Juniors (which is where the handler is judged vs. the dog being judged as in regular competition) it varies based on the kennel club. CKC, UKC, and AKC all have their own rules. Generally though, I believe the average accepted age is 6 to 18. If you visit the websites for each of the clubs, they do have details and rules posted for Junior Handling.
Figure skaters must have turned 15 by July 1 to become eligible for that season's senior level competitions. For junior level events, the minimum age is 13, but no older than 19.
The minimum age to join junior roller derby can vary depending on the league, but generally participants are between 7-17 years old. It's best to check with the specific league you are interested in for their age requirements.
