You can use the Pythagorean theorem to solve for the actual height of the incline because you know they hypotenuse length of the triangle as well as the angle.

sin(theta)*950 = _____( actual height of the ramp )

With this new height value you can determine the minimum work needed to push the car up the ramp.

Remember: W=m*g*h

=(850)(9.8)(actual height)

Hope this helps :)

The coefficient of static friction along an inclined plane is equal to tan alpha. What about the coefficient of kinetic friction?

It's not. The coefficient of static friction is only equal to the tangent of the angle of incline at the maximum angle before the object begins to slide. At this point static friction equals the component of the weight along the incline (weight X sin alpha). Static friction is given by the coefficient of static friction times the normal force (weight X cos alpha) fs = us N = us mg cos(alpha) Wx =mg sin(alpha) fs = Wx us mg cos(alpha) = mg sin(alpha) us = [sin(alpha)] / [cos(alpha)] = tan(alpha) Similarly, the coefficient of kinetic friction equals the tangent of the angle of incline only if the object is sliding down the incline at constant velocity (net force equals zero). If the object is accelerating along the incline (make this the x axis): Fnet, x = Wx - f max = mg sin(alpha) - uk mg cos(alpha) uk = [g sin(alpha) - ax] / [g cos(alpha)]

What is the most impressive minor degree?

Individuals often take a minor along with their primary program of study (Major), however, there is no such thing as a minor degree. A minor typically does not meet the requirements of a degree either in the amount of credits needed or course work.

What is average salary with bachelor's degree?

A bachelor's degree in business, along with a bit of experience, qualifies a person for lower and middle management positions. You can reasonably expect a minimum of about $40,000 per year straight out of college, depending upon the field. A master's degree in business, with 3-5 years of experience, should put you in line for jobs at a minimum of $75,000 per year, usually more like $85,000 to $95,000 if you have great experience. What is meant by incline of 1 in 5?

That means that for every 5 [lengths] forward along the level, the incline rises or drops 1 [length]. [Length] can be any unit of distance. This can also be called a "20% grade" . . . Because 1/5 = 0.2 = 20% . It also tells you that the incline makes an angle of 11.3° with the level, because 0.2 is the tangent of 11.3° .

Did Romans invent the aqueduct?

The Romans did not invent aqueducts. They already existed before them. However, the Romans made remarkable progress in aqueduct construction. Most of the course of aqueducts were underground pipes made of led which were encased in protective concrete. The Romans also made use of a system of syphons at different level along the steep incline of mountains which collected the water from conduits higher up and channelled it into conduits lower down. The also built bridgework to cross rivers and to keep an incline in flat areas. This incline was needed to keep the water flowing by gravity

Why does a bicylist pick up speed on a downhill road even when he will not pendalling?

The weight of the cycle and the person act vertically down (perpendicular to the level ground). This weight can be considered as two components, one perpendicular to the incline and the other along the incline which when added to the speed of the moving cycle increases it.
