The major aim of Islam was to bring all people to believe in One God the Creator of everything. When the Quran (The Holy book of Islam) was revealed to the Prophet, it's message was to stop polytheism and believing in Statues as Gods, and believe in the one God the creator of everything.
In the Islamic religion, God is not a person, a thing, an object, or anything we can see or know, and God has no gender. God is described as the creator of everything, the all knowing, the merciful... etc...
The word God when translated to Arabic becomes Allah... Many people think that Muslims believe in a god which they named as Allah and he is the god of Muslims only, in contrary the word Allah means God, and that is how Muslims refer to God in Arabic... and they believe he is the God of everything.
So simply the message is to believe in this God and do good, spread peace....
