As punishment, the judge usually makes you go back to school and to improve your grades and attendance. If you don't comply with that, your parents may ask the state to take charge of your rearing until you are 18. In essence making you a ward of the state where the state plays the role of mother and father.
You don't ever want to become a ward of the state.
yes
Most municipalities have a means for reduction of forfeiture. Usually, if you show up to your court date and be polite the judge will reduce the ticket.
Usually students are found to be in violation of truancy laws if they are found anywhere else other than the school grounds they are supposed to be attending. They can be written a truancy ticket if and or the teacher where the student is supposed to be is not there but only if the teacher reports the student to the proper authorities or the vice principal or principal and/or officers who are supposed to be enforcing class/school attendance.
Hopefully you missed a day due to personal illness. If are truant then you'll need to report your absence to the Attendance office. Keep in mind we're given the right to education and without education we don't get very far in life.
It isn't a "court fine"; It's a truancy ticket. In late 1998 through 1999 my daughter would skip West Allis high schools. I don't recall what each ticket was, but I do know that there was no "cap". By 2000, the 18 year old owed over $5,000.00 and there was a warrant out for her arrest. (Because she was 18 the warrant was for her, not me.)
The plural of truancy is truancies.
The plural form of "truancy" is "truan cies."

In most cases if the officer doesn't show up to court the ticket is dropped, but it depends on where you get your ticket. If you get a ticket in my home town the officers don't have to show up and you'll still have to go before a judge or pay the ticket.
What happens when you go to court depends on the judge that you get. Most commonly the ticket could be reduced and you will have to pay a fine.
The plural form of truancy is truancies.
